Yesterday was a long day. Flako and I ended up driving to Santa Barbara. I wanted to go somewhere and had seriously thought about driving aimlessly (not the best idea, I know), but he said he would go with and after some slight aimless driving, we ended up going to Santa Barbara. He used to live there and his mom still does. I still have only seen the same street. I've been there three times now and only done the same thing--the wharf and State Street. We went and stopped at the store he used to work at and tried to talk to his step-dad, but he was too busy. Then we went to surprise his mom. It was cute. She was so excited to see him. She totally guilted him into staying longer than he had planned (I had no plans so didn't care at all) so we walked up and down State Street for about two hours until she got off work. We stopped back at Foot Locker and saw his stepdad, who's the manager. Flako was staring at him, waiting to get noticed, and one of the girls came up and asked if we needed help. I said no, that we were just waiting for Larry, and she got so scared. I found it quite funny. We wandered around some more. I bought lights for my bike. His mom's store finally closed so we went back there to wait for her and then had a quick dinner. I like the atmosphere of Santa Barbara but it's really expensive. I ended up sleeping the entire way back to LA. Flako told me today that it was good that I slept because there were some terrible drivers. I had woken up a few times. He doesn't slam on his brakes unless absolutely necessary and he did it a few times last night.
