Los Liones Canyon

I met up with a mutual friend yesterday and we went hiking.  Well, eventually we went hiking....once I got there.  We made plans earlier in the week and I had looked on my GPS.  It said it was 45 minutes away.  We were meeting at 10, so I planned to leave about 9.  When I put the place into my GPS, it said an hour.  Um, what?  Ok...maybe I picked a different route or traffic...or I wasn't paying attention.  I checked the name again, but not the actual address.  Whatever.  So I left and drove.  It didn't feel right, but I kept going.  I arrived at where my GPS said it was the right place and was it right?  Nope.  Not even close.  AN HOUR AWAY.  Iwas in Thousand Oaks, not Pacific Palisades.  Not close to each other at all.  Leslie was kind enough to wait for me and I drove to the right place.  I ended up driving through an amazingly gorgeous canyon.  I would have stopped several times if Leslie wasn't waiting for me. I did want to drive my car a lot this weekend to really get the feel of it, but this wasn't exactly what I was planning.  Oh well.

I finally made it to Los Liones Canyon.  It was beautiful.  I like hiking and everywhere around here is gorgeous.  The reviews on Yelp (I can't live without Yelp) said that it's not a hard hike (liars).  The first part wasn't hard, but the second part was in the bright sun and steep.  I had a hard time with it and we ended up turning around and going back down.  I would love to go back when I'm a little more prepared for it.  I think between not eating much, not drinking much even though I had a bunch of water with me, and talking a lot was what did me in.  So I'll go back sometime.

In the last few months, since I started thinking about a new car, I've paid a lot more attention to the cars around me.  I think I've finally learned most of the company symbols.  I noticed something yesterday.  There are Toyotas EVERYWHERE.  I think they are the most popular cars, at least around here.  I get happy when I see Mazdas, but even happier when it's not a Mazda 6.  I like not having the same car as everyone.
